I myself have used acne medication prescribed by my dermatologist. I asked him the same question on whether or not my acne would come back. He told me to go on a birth control with a mild acne medication. It really did work for me! I’m using yaz and its amazing! I do get the occasional pimple during stressful times or near my period but other than that i just use st. ives exfoliate and my skin looks fab!I actually went through the same thing. I only receive one maybe through a six m onth time frame rarely but I use proactive when it appears then it disappears. I did see you said proactive didn’t work for you well it didn’t for me either at first but after everything I had some left and decided to try it and now it takes care of the occasional zit.
