Not likely. There are OTC (over the counter) treatments for scars or dark spots. I think one is called something like med-a-derma. Your pharmacist can tell you. Also you can get something from a dermatologist that can help.Many people believe that crushing a cucumber and applying it to the scars will fade them gradually.

As to whether this works or not is under debate.

Your best bet is to apply an alpha-hydroxy lotion, cream, or serum to the area. This will fade the scars if they are minor (don't form crater-like scars in the face).

Make sure you wear SPF while using alpha-hydroxy as it sheds the top layer of skin and makes it more susceptible to sun damage.
