It might be brought on by stress. maybe try relaxing a little bit more. i use the neutrogena wave, it works awesome! my skin is clear and smooth. try that. if nothing else is working try talking to a dermatologist and they should get you a medication or treatment to help your skin. whatever you do dont pick or pop the acne. it will just leave scars.i had acne and when i went away like to a beach or somewhere it cleared up too, my mom said that its the salt water from beaches… And i think that really is what it is… Try washing your face with some sea salts k :)You could try seeing a dermatologist. Or look up ways to reduce stress (ex. yoga or something). Perhaps it is ur diet. Also sunshine can reduce the appearance of acne temporarily, but in the long run it makes acne worse, so stay out of the sun or at least wear sunscreen. I'm not into the natural remedies, I use the Spectro Acne Care system.
Long winded answer:
What is acne? The simple answer is clogged pores. Your skin has very tiny holes (called pores) that are used to expell substances from the body, such as oil and sweat and such. A pimple is formed when these pores become clogged due to a build up of dead cells, bacteria, oil, etc. Proper skin care removes these clogs and prevents them from forming again. Acne has multiple causes and it takes 3-4 weeks for new skin cells/pimples to develop (so it takes this long for an acne treatment to work).
Poor Diet. The skin is the body's largest ORGAN and when you put bad stuff in ur body, it is reflected by all ur organs, especially ur skin. Drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits/vegetables and switch to whole grains (ex. brown bread, brown rice). REALLY lower your intake of salty or sugary foods, this means NO junk food (no chocolate bars, no soda, no fast food, etc.).
Poor Skin Care. You need 3-4 products to rid urself of acne and must use them in the following order. Do this 1-2 times a day (ex. morning and night), no more and no less.
1. Cleanser (a jel or scrub). Wet your hands and face, lather up the product in ur hands, GENTLY rub in CIRCULAR motions with ur FINGERTIPS all over ur face. Rinse off with water and PAT ur face dry with a CLEAN towel.
2. Toner. Use the pre-soaked pads or squirt some toner on a cotton pad and very gently wipe ur entire face with it. It is VERY important to ALWAYS tone after washing.
3. Treatment (Optional). Some lineups offer a cream heavy in ingredients that kill the bacteria causing acne, such as salicylic acid.
4. Moisturizer. Regardless of ur skin type, moisturizing is VERY important. Pick a moisturizer that is oil free, non-comedogenic (this means it won't clog pores and won't cause acne, if you wear make up such as blush or concealer, MAKE SURE IT IS non-comedogenic!).
—-> I reccomend the Spectro Acne Care line up as it cured my acne and has all 4 of the products I mentioned above.
Other Causes. Stress is a cause, so do what you can to reduce it. Touching ur skin with ANYTHING, even ur hands, is BAD! The friction from rubbing ur skin irritates it and causes acne flare ups, not to mention the bacteria ur introducing to ur skin and pores. The golden rule, do NOT EVER touch ur face or other areas affected by acne. This means no resting ur chin on ur hands and no tucking the phone between ur ear/face and neck. Exercise can help with acne, as long as you wash up afterwards and don't let the sweat remain on ur skin. Exercise releases good chemicals in ur body (ex. it can help with stress/anxiety) and opens/clears ur pores. Try doing morning stretches?

Acne problems!! please help?
December 30, 2008
I'm 39 yrs old and STILL get acne! The ONLY product that works for me is something called Acnefree and you can find it at Target or WalMart. I've tried Proactiv as well and it also didn't work for me. Acnefree was an absolute life saver for me! It may have the salicylic acid in it or benzoyl peroxide though. It may not be "good" for your skin but neither is constant acne which can leave scars. You don't say how old you are but I am assuming you are a teen. Poor you, I am 28 and I still have it because it's hormonal. The best thing you can do is eat healthily, exercise, be happy (seriously!), try not to get stressed, drink plenty of water, remove your make up (mineral make up is good for not clogging pores) every night and use facial products that don't strip your skin of oil. Neutrogena is quite a gentle range. If you're 16 or above you could consider Dianette which is a mini contraceptive pill but one of the side effects means that your skin improves. Talk with your doctor and Dad and maybe ask to be referred to a dermatologist and tell them about what you have done to improve your skin and ask for help. There are a lot of myths about acne, it's hard sifting through the rubbish, so that's why you should consult a professional, chin up, lots of people experience it.
Good luck xAs it looks like you've learned, proactiv doesn't work very well.
The only real answer is to see a dermatologist. You'll be surprised how well taking a pill once a day works compared to the extensive routine of using irritating creams and washes worked.
Ask for erythromyacin. The only down side is that it doesn't work forever, your body will get used to it eventually and it won't have any effect. The good news is that, at least for me, that meant ten years of very minimal acne. After 10 years I was twenty six and it became obvious the pill wasn't working as well as it used to. The good news is that at 26 (I'm 29 now) I had significantly less acne than I did when I was 16 and over the counter creams can combat that acne pretty well.

How do I bring up my problem with my boyfriends acne without hurting his feelings?
December 30, 2008
Talk to him nicely at first, and say something like "Aww… wow you've been getting a lot of scar, maybe I can try and fix that, let me put on some coco butter on those scar so it can go away" than you can bring up the acne too and say that you should also take care of that before he get any more scar, use the scar as an excuse, alway find a nice excuse, its pretty easy, if you 2 are true lovers I don't see how he can get upset or offended by that
Make sure you buy coco butter, I really don't know where they sell those, last time I use that was last year.as a high school teacher, I face this problem. I usually tell my students that I use oxy pads and give them a canister to try.
The new proactive medication is considered to be even better. I would simply say that I use this product and it works for me so I thought he would like to try it also. That does not make the subject emotionally sensitive and works very well. To date, no one has turned me down and the results are rewarding.if he had an infection on his arm how would you deal with that?
if you know of a way to rid him of his acne. it could be changing his diet, it could be stress, or he needs antibiotics and all those things.
just tell him you feel bad for him and you'd like to help him find ways to cope with it. peaceWell here's the question I must ask you first.
Do you want to talk to him about his acne cause you care about his health, or is it because it discusses you and you don't want someone with acne, what is it?
You should always love someone because of their heart. If their love for you is strong and you can feel it when you're near him. I hope you have same kind of love otherwise. Good luck getting out of that one…
- SPECIAL ED C.A.OMGOSH my boyfriend has the same problem and we are around your age tooo!!!! my boyfriend has it bad and i mean realll bad he even gets it on his scalp which is weird i know but all of this acne causes him to complain about it like if i touch his face he will say ouch and so i try and tell him that if its bothering him so much why doesnt he get lazer surgery to remove it. I tell him it doesnt bother me but it will ease his pain.
OMgosh i never had anyone who had the same problem as me so i hope this helps

Lavender reduces redness. Lavender essential oil, few drops in your cold water and splash your face with it and leave to dry on its own. Or you can apply neat straight to your skin.
Lavender also reduces scarring and speeds up healing.
Tea tree oil from bodyshop is usually really good but it can sometimes irritate skin thats a bit sensitive and can dry it out.
Aloe vera is also calming.
Good luck

Acne medications that work besides acutane?
December 29, 2008
Definitely keep going with the tazorac & solodyn. You could see greater improvement at the 12-week mark. It really does take that long for a medication like tazorac to work because of how it makes your skin turn over faster. You have to give it that extra amount of time to get out all the blemishes that are "cooking".
Let me add that Accutane is a serious medication and that the side effects of mood changes are very real.

How Do You Cure And Clear Up Acne Problems On Your…?
December 28, 2008
I have serious acne problems too and i have tried pretty much every over the counter ointments and face washes– none of them work.
the only thing that keeps my acne under control to a certain extent is antibiotics.. they clear your acne from the inside.
remember that there is no cure to acne and deff. no permanent solution (believe me i tried) so you only keep it to a minimum with antibiotics but they do help so i suggest you find a dermatologist and have him/her prescribe some.

Ugh acne problem!! any advice?
December 28, 2008
Don't worry, I can't afford ProActiv either.
Depending on how oily or flaky my skin is, I start my routine and use a homemade facial scrub made out of sugar and water…(use about 2 tablespoons of each, but dont completely dissolve the sugar or your scrub will disappear!)
After that…..
Everyday, no matter what, I wash my face (morning and night) with Dove soap. (It's really healthy for your skin and recommended by dermatologists)
And after those two steps, at night before bed, I put on a homeopathic blemish cream, which works wonders! It's not even expensive. I'm not sure where they are sold, but ask an employee at Walmart or other store if they have homeopathic products (or know where to get them)
You might be able to get them online.
Just remember, try not to put anything on your face that will clog your pores.
Exfoliate (scrub) your skin to get dirt and dead skin cells off your face (which might also be clogging your pores)
And cleanse it afterward with something that supplies moisture to your skin.
St. Ives is also a good skin product brand that I trust and use often. They are inexpensive, too!
Hope this helps!

How can I clear up some acne on my face? Without going to the store?
December 28, 2008
Try not to drink too many cokes and drink lots of water.
try using listerine to dry it up because its an antiseptic. if some of your pimples or zits are open, then use a qtip and dab some peroxide on it.dab a little toothPASTE on the pimple not the gel the paste, usually white is better. and DO NOT cake the past on the pimple because that will clog the pimple just smooth a tiny bit over the pimple so it will dry the pimle out and then its gone!honey ive tried everything and the things that worked had to be bought at the store but it doesnt cost much!
1. go buy a exfoliating scrub and use it twice a week. what it does is that it clears the dead skin cells and bacteria to let the new skin come up. i would suggest getting one from st. ives company . theres works really good. u can use there apricot scrub
2. get a facewash that has benzoyl preoxide in it. there are two main ingreadiants that help clear acne. 1 is salysic acid or 2 benzoyl peroxide. i would suggest b. peroxide because i think it gives better results and works better. the facewash i recommend is neutrogena 2 in 1 facewash and mask. it has 2.5% b. peroxide and really helped my skin.
use these two products and trust me, most of ur acne will be gone within 2 weeks!
other things u can do at home is put on a honey mask. take honey and spread it on ur face and wash ur face. u can also take aspirin and crush it up so it becomes powder and add very LITTLE water to make a paste and apply that on ur pimple b4 bed and it really helps! ( caz aspirin is actually salysic acid in a powerful form)
hope this helped
