Best acne wash for an oily face?
What will help the best is when you take a shower wash your face with soap and water. And when your out and about during the day, try not to touch your face because all the bacteria on your’s and other peoples hands make your face really oily.Acne is a medical condition and you should seek a dermatologist not chemical washes from a drug store they have to much additives and preservatives to do anything to your face and could be sitting on shelfs for ages hence some cleansers say they can last up to a year due to preservatives….
Number one don’t wash your face so much…You should be exfloiating and cleansing and moisturizing…Go to your local spa and ask there staff for suggestions..You will get more help there then on here..Chances are, you are irritating and over drying your skin, which can easily worsen/cause acne.
I have oily/combo skin (oily in the t-zone, normal to dry in the ckeeks, and prone to dryness all over), and whenever I use products for oily skin or for acne prone skin, it makes the acne and the oil production worse.
Also, it’s better to stick to ONE acne fighting product. So if you want to use the BP, use a gentle cleanser not designed for acne-prone or oily skin.
Also, be sure you moisturize. With oily skin, sometimes what can help most is simply using a moisturizer. I always moisturize, and it generally makes my acne better (unless it’s too thick, doesn’t properly sink in, or I am allergic to an ingredient).
I personally use Herbalism from LUSH. There is a chance it could break you out though, as there is no guarantee that products will not break you out. If there is a LUSH near you, maybe ask for a free sample and use it for a week, day and night.
If you do not use a moisturizer, then go out and look for one for the AM and the PM. For your AM one, use one with SPF. I personally use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle cream in the original formula for my night cream, as it helps with acne and fine lines. For the AM, I am currently trying out the Biore SkinPreservation Dual one. I’ve yet to use it though, just bought it.
Also, exfoliate. With acne, it’s tricky, because anything too drying or harsh can worsen acne. Look for something that is very gentle but that still allows for exfoliation. I am going to be trying out the Boots Botanics Purifying Face Scrub.
A face mask will be great for acne. You can look for a clay mask to use on the most acne-prone areas or the most oily areas, and use that once a week. Then, I’d suggest trying out a hydrating mask as well to use once a week or every 2 weeks, to help ensure your face remains hydrated. The two masks I will be trying out will be The Body Shop’s Aloe mask, as that is great for hydration, and the Boots Botanics Conditioning Clay Mask (this one I’ve tried for a quick nose and chin test, and it didn’t seem to irritate my skin).
Because there are so many products out there, I recommend going to the store nearest you where you generally buy your products. If there is a makeup area that sells "high end" brands, then ask those people working in that section to help suggest brands and products to try out for your skin type.
